What is Design Doha Prize?
- The Design Doha Prize is a prestigious biennial initiative providing recognition and support for exceptional talents in the fields of design across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The first edition of the prize was successfully launched in 2024 and was centered around the theme of "design excellence.” Four designers are selected across 4 different design categories. The prize empowers these designers, provide them with valuable guidance, and showcase their work to a wider audience. The 2026 edition of the prize is centered around the theme of "Open Door".
Who can apply for the Design Doha Prize?
- Applicants should have a background in design
- Applicants must be either citizens or residents of the MENA region,
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old by the application due date Applicants must be available to participate in the judging session.
- The prize can be received only once by a designer.

- Closing date of applications: Wednesday, April 30, 2025
- Finalists Annoucement: Thursday, October 16, 2025
- Judging session: Wednesday, January 28, 2026
- Prize Ceremony: Friday, January 30, 2026
How do I apply for the Design Doha Prize?
- You can apply online through our official website. The application process involves submitting the following:

- A budget that details how the grant money would be spent within the defined program period (approximately 9 months)
- A portfolio of the latest collections/products showcasing the designer’s work
