Design Doha Prize

Event

The Design Doha Prize is a prestigious biennial initiative providing recognition and support for exceptional talents in the fields of design across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The first edition of the prize was successfully launched in 2024 and was centered around the theme of "Design Excellence.” Four designers were selected across four different design categories. The prize aims to empower these designers, provide them with valuable guidance, and showcase their work to a wider audience.

Design Doha Prize 2024



As we celebrated the innovation and creativity of our four outstanding winners at the esteemed Design Doha Prize Ceremony on 28 February 2024 at Barahat Msheireb, the Smart City of Doha. Two hundred and seventy people attended the event, among them were the 20 finalists, the 18 jurors, 12 influencers, renowned designers, partners, sponsors, enthusiasts, and businessmen. The Design Doha Prize Ceremony celebrated and promoted the talent and creativity of MENA (Middle East and North Africa) designers in the fields of product design, interior design, furniture design, and craft. By offering a monetary prize, mentorship, and exposure, an incredible evening devoted to pushing the boundaries of design.

The Trophy

A collaboration between Design Doha and pioneering Qatari designer Shaikha Al-Sulaiti

Presenting Shaikha Al Sulaiti, the designer and creative force behind the inaugural Design Doha Prize Trophy for 2024.

The trophy incorporated lettering from the Design Doha logo to create its form, inspired by the shape of the Midkhan, which is culturally used to welcome guests into Qatari homes. Metaphorically, it symbolizes Doha’s welcoming of Arab designers and their contribution to in enhancing the MENA region’s cultural design movement.
